Our Story
Frame of Mind exists at the intersection of clarity and intention. Each curated design is shaped with purpose and crafted with reverence for detail—from sculptural lines to balanced proportions that honor both form and function. Our frames are not curated to follow trends, but to outlast them, grounded in timeless relevance.
At the center of our identity is the Double Happiness symbol, representing prosperity, unity, and shared abundance. It reflects a deeper belief.
We are not mass producers. We are eyewear curators. Every frame is selected with intention—balancing form, function, and meaning. We focus on pieces that carry presence, precision, and enduring relevance.
Khaliph Young
Founder-Brand Architect & Creative Director
My passion for eyewear began in my mid-teens, but the story started a generation earlier. In the 1970s, my grandmother worked in the eyewear department at Saks Fifth Avenue, bringing home distinctive frames that sparked a lifelong fascination with style and self-expression.
By the 1980s, I was building a collection of my own, inspired by the pages of GQ and the bold vision of Incognito in Royal Oak, Michigan. More than fashion, those frames represented identity and individuality.
More than 40 years later, Frame of Mind is the culmination of that journey—a reflection of the influences, inspiration, and lifelong passion that continue to shape the way I see the world.
Angela Bragg
Co-Founder Chief Curator & Buyer
Thirty years ago, I entered Detroit’s legendary optical hub with an artsy soul and a determination to master the craft. From the reception desk to the optical lab, I immersed myself in every aspect of the industry, mastering both the technical precision of lens fabrication and the art of eyewear styling.
Over the decades, I evolved into a stylist, General Manager, and now Chief Curator and Buyer, combining technical expertise, creative vision, and Detroit grit. Frame of Mind is the culmination of that journey—a collection of curated confidence, designed to help you stand out.
